'Active meth lab' results in arrest of Gibson City couple

A 51-year-old man and his 34-year-old wife were jailed Thursday after police in Gibson City said the couple was found with a working meth lab in their home. And – reports claimed seven children were present in the home.

Kelly Burrows and Marlina Burrows were arrested when authorities executed a search warrant at their home on State Street in Gibson City. A month-long investigation led to the arrests. Gibson City Police, the Kankakee Area MEG unit and the Illinois State Police meth response team were all involved.

Kelly Burrows is charged with suspicion of manufacture and delivery of methamphetamine, possession of meth-manufacturing materials and multiple counts of meth-related child endangerment.

Burrows' wife, Marlina, was arrested on suspicion of meth-related child endangerment.

Charges were expected to be upgraded.

The DCFS is involved with the investigation. Seven children, ranging in age from 2-13, were present at the home.
