The driver of a semi was treated for non-life threatening injuries after his semi was hit by a freight train Friday in rural Iroquois County.
36-year-old Joseph Freeman of DeKalb failed to stop at the railroad crossing at County Roads 600 N and 1800 E. The box trailer portion of the semi was struck by the Union Pacific train, which was headed southwest at a private drive, according to Sheriff's Police.
Cissna Park Fire EMS and IMH EMS answered the call. Freeman was treated at Iroquois Memorial Hospital. No other injury was reported.
