The NJCAA Board of Directors has awarded Danville Area Community College and the city of Danville the rights to continue hosting the NJCAA Division II Men's National Basketball Tournament.
Danville was unanimously awarded the tournament through 2020.
Danville has the rights to the tournament through 2017, and was competing with a bid from Salina, Kansas.
It is estimated that the tournament brings over $1.5 million of economic impact to Danville.
Representatives from DACC and the city of Danville, including Mayor Scott Eisenhauer, were in Colorado Springs, CO at the annual NJCAA meetings to lobby for the rights to retain the NJCAA tournament. A weekend vote by the NJCAA Board of Directors unanimously awarded DACC and Danville to host the event through the year 2020.
