The National Weather Service has a ‘Heat Advisory’ in place thru the evening hours.
Afternoon teps could reach 90 to 95 degrees. The heat index is likely to peak between 105 and 108 degrees.
However, thunderstorms developing may also hold those readings down.
Mid-morning thunderstorms brought heavy rain, lightning, and some reports of flash flooding.

A Heat Advisory creates the means to check on neighbors to make sure they’re properly cared for, they have air-conditioning, and plenty of water. The elderly are especially prone to heat and stroke.
Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency, call 9-1-1.
