The Livingston County Coroner’s Office is investigating a Friday afternoon crash that left a Mount Vernon (IL) woman dead.

61-YEAR-OLD Debra J. Martin was pronounced dead at St. James – John Albrect Medical Center in Pontiac. An autopsy is planned, according to Coroner Danny Watson.

Watson reported Mrs. Martin’s car collided with a freightliner semi tractor-trailer at Route 24 and County Road 3350 E. The accident happened shortly before 3 pm Friday.

Chatsworth Fire & Ambulance, SELCAS Ambulance, State Police and Livingston County Sheriff’s Police responded.

Motorcycle fatality in Kankakee County ---

A weekend traffic accident killed a Bonfield man. 29-year-old Alexander Thompson suffered fatal injuries when he lost control of his motorcycle Saturday.

The Kankakee County Coroner's Office repors the accident happened on 9000N, west of Route 45.

A female passenger was injured, but escaped more serious injuries.
