Republican members of the Vermilion County Board meet today (Monday) to caucus and select a nominee to become the next County Board chairman. The meeting at 6 pm is open to the public. It’s at the Vermilion County Title building on North Vermilion Street.

Current Board Chairman Mike Marron will be stepping down, effective September 7th, when he is sworn in as the new State Representative for the 104th District.

Marron will succeed Representative Chad Hays. Hays announced earlier that he would be leaving the Illinois General Assembly early to become the new Executive Director of a human service organization.
