Roland “Bogie” Boguszewski of Bradley has been honored by the Masonic Lodge.
The Past Master of St. Anne 429 and Kankakee 389 Masonic Lodges was recently recognized at a dinner held by Illinois Priory #11. Boguezewski has been exalted to the Knights of the York Cross of Honour.
It’s the highest attainable degree in the York Rite.
The recognition is similar to the 33rd deg. Of the Scottish Rite. An individual cannot ask or pay for it; the degree is only bestowed upon a worthy Companion.
The candidate has to have been installed as a Worshipful Master of a Masonic Blue Lodge, Excellent High priest of a Royal Arch Chapter, Thrice Illustrious Master of a Council of Royal and Select Masters, and Eminent Commander of a Commandery of Knights Templer, and also by good works within Masonry and communities.
Boguszewski’s vast amount of charitable endeavors throught Masonry played an integral part of a heavily-weighted unanimous vote.
Some of Boguszewski's endeavors are "The Esther Boguszewski Literacy Program" , "The Gifts for the Innocent Foundation for Battered Woman & Children " , "Shriner's Hospital Chicago Usher's Committee", "IL. MIA Project" and numerous leadership roles in other organizations helping children and veterans around the state . Boguszewski joins the small list of other local KYCH Members like Ed Hedlin (St. Anne ) , William Doran (Kankakee), Gene Nussbaum (Momence) Don & Blain Nussbaum (St. Anne).
