Frankfort woman dies in motorcycle crash at I-57 rest stop

A 51-year-old woman riding as a passenger on a motorcycle died Friday evening after two motorcycles collided while entering a rest area along Interstate 57, at Buckley.

Illinois State Police reported the accident occurred just before 6:30 pm when a Harley-Davidson driven by 45-year-old Justin Casper of Oak Lawn was struck from behind by another Harley-Davidson driven by 56-year-old Christopher Hoerler of Oak Lawn. The cycles collided as the two bikes were entering the southbound rest area in Iroquois County.

A passenger on Hoerler's bike, Giedre Pysik of Frankfort, was thrown from the motorcycle. She was later pronounced dead by the Iroquois County coroner's office.
