A student was arrested at Klondike Middle School in Lafayette, IN and is facing a charge of possession of a firearm on school property. According to an email sent to parents (Tuesday), it was reported a student displayed what looked like a handgun (Monday 8/23). Tippecanoe School Corporation reached out immediately to Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office to investigate.

According to the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office, the gun was never used in a threatening manner and at no time was anyone placed in danger.
