The Kankakee County Coroner has been called to the scene of a reported active-shooter incident in downtown Kankakee at the Courthouse.  Any further detail is yet to be made available.  An emergency responder confirms at least one person was dead. 

Law enforcement closed down roads leading to-and-from the County Courthouse.  Scanner traffic indicated Kankakee City Police responded to the active shooter report just before 10 am.  The Coroner was contacted around 10:15 am.  The shooting reported to have happened outside the Courthouse.  

Downtown buildings were closed to the public.
