The victim of a fatal apartment building fire in Peotone has been identified. The Will County Coroner’s Office says the body of 49-year-old Kendra Morgan was found in a bedroom at the building on South Schroeder Avenue. The Peotone Fire Protection District said in a press release other apartment dwellers were not injured. The Saturday morning fire was contained to the one apartment but there was water & smoke damage throughout the building. Several fire departments from Will and Kankakee County answered the call. The State Fire Marshall is investigating. An autopsy was scheduled.

Watseka Garage Fire ---

A Watseka garage fire (Monday) is being called a total loss. Fire Chief Kenny Baier (Buy-er)) said the cause is under investigation. Firemen answered the call behind 222 E. Ash Street. Radiant heat also damaged another garage and three houses.
