The 104th Annual Meeting of the Kankakee County Farm Bureau will take place on Thursday, March 3 at the Hilton Garden Conference Center at 455 Riverstone Parkway in Kankakee. The evening will begin with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30. Following dinner, there will be a short business meeting and election of directors. Once the business portion is concluded, the featured speaker will be introduced.

This year's featured speaker will be two-time NFL Super Bowl champ, Ted Petersen. Petersen of rural Momence, Illinois played as offensive lineman in the NFL for nine seasons playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Cleveland Browns, and the Indianapolis Colts. He will deliver an inspirational message focusing on the value of hard work and perseverance.

Petersen was a member of the Pittsburg Steelers for eight years from 1977 to 1984, a team which won Super Bowl XIII in 1979 and Super Bowl XIV in 1980. He attended Momence High School and played football all four years. He was never included on the MVP list for his high school team and was not expected to go to the NFL. In 1973 he was awarded an All-Area Offensive Line scholarship to Eastern Illinois University where he was co-captain and was a first-team All-American for his university football team.

Along with the election of nine directors to the County Farm Bureau Board and reports to the membership, the evening at the Hilton will also include an extensive dinner of marinated and grilled pork tenderloin along with everything else to complete the meal.
