A Texas truck driver faces felony cocaine-trafficking charges after a traffic stop on I-57. The Illinois State Police (ISP), with the assistance of the Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group, arrested 63-year-old Dwayne B. Cook of Spring, TX Saturday morning. Cook was jailed at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.
ISP trooper conducted a motor carrier safety inspection on a truck tractor in Chebanse. A search of the truck tractor revealed 15 kilo bundles (approximately 40 pounds) of suspected cocaine. The driver was arrested, and charged with Controlled Substance Trafficking (Class X Felony) and Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Class X Felony).
