Two Illinois girls are recovering from injuries after the tube they were riding on crashed (Wednesday) on Lake Freeman at Monticello.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources reported the sun caused a woman operating a boat to misjudge the distance between a dock and the tube. That led to a collision about 8 am, upstream from the U.S. 421 Bridge.
Three kids were on the tube. A 13-year-old girl and an 11-year-old girl were hurt. One of the girls was airlifted to a hospital in Indianapolis.The third child and others on the boat were not injured. Conservation officers said everyone was wearing life jackets.

Alcohol or drugs are not suspected as factors in the crash.
