2 people displaced by house fire in Kankakee

Fire Chief Bryan LaRoche reported 2 people were displaced by a house fire in Kankakee Friday. It was just before 11 am when firefighters responded to the 1100-block of Wilson Drive. The fire’s cause was suspected to have been electrical in nature, due to two space heaters. It started in the kitchen. Damage was pegged at about $50,000.
LaRoche said the two displaced were assisted with temporary housing. No injury was reported.

Mutuial aid was provided by Bourbonnais, Bradley and Limestone fire departments, Elite ambulance, Kankakee police and public works also assisted.
