21st Circuit names new Judge

Attorney Brenda Claudio has been voted in to fill a vacancy as an Associate Judge in the 21st Judicial Circuit.  The seven Circuit Judges voted to fill the position.  Claudio is the first Hispanic judge appointed the circuit.  She was born in Puerto Rico and is fluent in Spanish. 

Chief Judge Michael Kramer said Brenda is an integral part of our local communities and a respected member of the legal community. She's been practicing law for nearly 24 years.  She served as an Assistant State's Attorney from 1997 - 2021.  Brenda is also a member of the Kankakee County Bar Assocation and other local and state organizations.

Judge-elect Claudio will be formally sworn-in August 2 at 4 pm at the Kankakee County Courthouse.
