2nd Annual Brett Barragree Memorial Fundraiser

The 2nd Annual Brett Barragree Memorial Fundraiser is currently accepting contributions to “Support Continuing Education for Area 1st Responders”.

Brett Barragree was a passionate first responder for 20 years of his short life. Brett was not only a firefighter, paramedic, and Coast Guard veteran, but he was a Basic EMT trainer both at Iroquois Memorial Hospital (IMH) and while in the U. S. Coast Guard.

This 2nd Annual Fundraiser intends to use Brett's accomplishments as a catalyst to continue to inspire others. In addition to his years in the Coast Guard, Brett worked with and was deeply involved with four local first response units at various times in his career... the Watseka Fire Department, the IMH EMS program, the Woodland Fire Department, & the Riverside Ambulance Service. All funds donated during this fundraiser will be administered by the four above units to provide tuition funds to be used to help area residents wanting to enter or move up in the firefighter and/or paramedic fields. The awards can be used for beginning as well as continuing education in the chosen fields.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to accept contributions for this worthwhile program. To donate, please go to “gofundme.com” and type Brett Barragree or just “1st responders fund” into the search window. Brett’s fundraiser should come up first on the list.
