2nd case of COVID-19 confirmed in Iroquois County

                                                   Kankakee County updates its positive cases to 25

The Iroquois County Public Health Department has confirmed the second positive case of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in an Iroquois County resident.

This (Friday) afternoon’s confirmation notice states this individual was tested March 24th by a medical provider. The individual is a man in his 40’s located in Iroquois County. The individual is at home, doing well, and cooperating with public health officials. He will remain in isolation at home. The county’s first confirmed case, a Male in his 50’s, is also isolating at home.

The Public Health Department’s Communicable Disease nurses are working to complete investigations, conduct contact tracing and notify others determined to be at increased risk of exposure.

The Kankakee County Public Health Department reported its latest postive cases include two women in their 40's and one in her 80's and two men, one in his 50's and another in his 80's.

The Will County Health Department reports 77 cases.  Grundy and Livingston Counties both reported their second cases Friday.

The Illinois Department of Public Health is now reporting eight more deaths and 488 new known cornavirus cases, raising the state death toll to 34.  The total known cases is 3,016.
