Kankakee Fire Chief Damon Schuldt reports the body of a second fisherman who fell into the Kankakee River last month has been found…. 70 MILES AWAY….in the Illinois River at Ottawa. Chief Schuldt said he was notified Saturday by the Illinois Department of Natural resources that the body of Nicholas Williams of Matteson was found. The other man who drowned was 42-yr-old William Veasley, also of Matteson. His body was recovered last Tuesday in Grundy County – also in the Illinois River at the Dresden Lock & Dam. The men disappeared while fishing in the Kankakee River May 7.
