Illinois State Police and other emergency responders answered a call to a serious crash (Wednesday) on U.S. Route 24 in Iroquois County, near the Indiana border.

It was a three vehicle mishap at 3190 E just after 4 pm.
Drivers were identified as Patricia J. Allford, 70, Sheldon... Howard R. Kissack, 82, Watseka... and Daniel D. Morgan, 53, Terre Haute, IN

Patricia Allford was eastbound on Route 24 behind the Semi driven by Daniel Morgan of Terre Haute, IN. Police reports indicated Allford attempted to pass the Semi and struck Howard Kissack’s van head-on. Kissack was westbound on Route 24. Both vehicles then hit the rear of the semi.

A passenger in Kissack’s van --- Michael Strong of Rockford --- was airlifted from the scene to Carle Hospital in Urbana. Allford and Kissack were taken by ambulance to Iroquois Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to Carle Hospital.

Patricia Allford was cited by Sate Police for Improper Lane Usage.
