One person is dead after two semi tractor-trailers and a car collided this (Wed) afternoon on southbound I-57 in Kankakee County. A front-seat passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was air-lifted to a Chicago hospital.

Illinois State Police report one of the semi’s and the car were slowing to stop in a construction zone when the second semi di not slow, running into the rear of the passenger car. The collision caused the car to run into the other semi.

Manteno, Bourbonnais, Bradley, and Peotone Fire Departments were on the scene along with Manteno and Bradley Police Departments and Riverside EMS.
