5-month undercover investigation results in multiple arrests

KENTLAND, Ind.  -   Kentland, Indiana Town Marshall Vince Lowe  {Low -  like How} Friday announced results of a 5-month undercover drug investigation, which found officers from several departments arresting several suspected dealers. 

Bonds were set for all the suspects, some now free while others are jailed in Newton County and will appear in court Monday.

Twenty-seven law enforcement officers from 11 agencies served arrest warrants.

Officers purchased marijuana, hashish, cocaine, and various types of controlled substances on multiple occasions during the course of the investigation.

11 felony warrants were issued and all but two of the suspects were taken into custody.

Nine adults and two juveniles were arrested in Newton and Benton Counties and two adults were arrested by Illinois departments, including Iroquois and Vermilion counties.

Kentland Town Marshal Vince Lowe {Low} coordinated the operation and announced the multi-agency cooperation was key to their success.

The juveniles were charged with dealing marijuana.

The adults involved face charges ranging from Possession and Dealing Controlled Substances, Felony Cocaine and Marijuana Possession charges, and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.
