60-year prison term for Joseph Buckner’s killer

The killer of a popular Kankakee barber was sentenced to 60-years in prison Friday. Dannie Kendrick was given the lengthy jail term for the 2011 murder of Joseph Buckner. Kendrick was found guilty of the 2011 murder of Joseph Buckner, outside the victim’s home. Prosecutors said it was an armed robbery gone bad.

Buckner was a popular, well-known businessman who provided free back-to-school haircuts for the youth of Kankakee.
