$750,000 bond set in double-fatal crash

Six felony counts of aggravated DUI are filed against a Kankakee man for the crash that killed a Watseka woman and seriously injured her husband. Javon R. Frazier the driver of a vehicle involved in a double-fatal crash last Tuesday had bond set at $750,000. The crash resulted in death and injury.

Authorities said Frazier registered a blood alcohol level of .199 following the crash at Routes 1 and 17, east of Kankakee. The accident killed Karen Sutfin of Watseka. Her husband, Joseph, was seriously injured. The crash also killed Prince Trowell of Kankakee, a passenger in Frazier’s vehicle.

ISP reported Frazier ran thru a red light and hit the Sutfin vehicle as it turned from Route 17 onto Illinois Route 1. Police said the Sutfin pickup truck was turning with a green arrow at the time of the wreck.

The case goes to the grand jury later this month.
