Fifty to sixty firefighters helped battle a large field fire Sunday east of Rossville. Breezy winds fueled the fire which destroyed 80 acres of corn, according to Rossville Fire. One fireman suffered a burn injury. A combine started the fire and kept firemen on the scene much of the day. Firemen from Hoopeston, Bismarck, and West Lebanon, IN answered the call. Half a dozen or so farmers helped by dragging a disk to control the flames.
