A wet start to planting ...

...  but still better than last year !

This week’s USDA crop report shows little progress with spring planting last week – just too wet. Corn is 56 percent planted and nine percent emerged. Soybeans are 31 percent planted and two percent emerged.

State statistician Mark Shcleusener, of the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, says this year’s progress is much better than last year’s -- 2019 had some the wettest fields ever.
