Absentee, early voting in April 7 election underway – no excuse needed

Absentee and early voting continues in area counties and across the state of Illinois for the April 7 Consolidated Election.

Candidates seeking seats include those running for seats on numerous local government boards such as city councils, village boards, school boards, and park boards. Some voters also have referenda issues on the ballot.

The Milford school district is seeking a building construction OK from voters to ensure continued and quality education for local students.

Voting early either by mail or in-person encourages more people to participate in the election due to the convenience, County Clerks say voters don't need to provide election officials with a reason for casting their ballot before Election Day.

Most all county election offices are open from 8 am - 4:30 pm Monday thru Fridays. Questions can be directed to your respective county clerk's office.
