Accused BrickStone robber indicted in federal court

A three-count federal indictment is on file against a Kankakee man accused of the armed robbery at the BrickStone Restaurant & Brewery in Bourbonnais.

32-year-old Michael W. Cobbs is alleged to have robbed the business last month. Cobbs is being charged at the federal level under the Hobbs Act –obstructing commerce by the robbery.

Police said Cobbs had a weapon when he held up the business. He bound and gagged employees while fleeing with $28-hundred dollars. He’s also not allowed to have a weapon as a convicted felon.

Cobbs was also on supervised release after serving 11 years in prison. If convicted, , Cobbs faces up to 55 years in federal prison.
