Advisory: Freezing rain tonight

The National Weather Service is alerting motorists of the likelihood of central Illinois roads could becoming slippery overnight (Friday) when rain starts falling before the temperatures start rising over the weekend.

There's a weather alert for freezing rain for most of the WGFA-listening area. The freezing conditions are expected between about 10 pm. thru 4 am Saturday.

There's also a chance of freezing rain before 7 a.m. Saturday, but it will turn to rain as the temperature rises to a balmy 49 degrees. Saturday also calls for breezy southerly wind of 14 to 20 mph.

A chance of rain continues Sunday, with a high temperature expected near 50 degrees.
