Flood warnings will remain in place after the slow-moving weather system brought so much rain this past week. But a dry-up and warmer weekend is expected, according to the National Weather Service.
Flood Watches/Warnings remain in effect for much of Illiana.
Flash flooding brought emergency response teams out Thursday in several counties, including Vermilion, Champaign and Coles counties. Some roads were closed. And some school districts had early dismissals.
A Flood Warning is in place until 3:45 pm.today (Friday 5/5) for Vermilion, Champaign, Douglas, Edgar and Coles counties in East Central Illinois. West-central Indiana counties are also included.
Saturday and Sunday forecasts will bring some sunshine. Temperatures will climb into the 70s by next Wednesday.
