Authorities in Vermilion County have identified the woman’s body found Sunday as that of 33-year-old Amanda J. Walters-Pentecost.
County Coroner Peggy Johnson announced an autopsy completed today (Mon) shows the cause of death was from cold exposure. Toxicology tests are pending.
The woman’s body discovered in a wooded area southeast of Hoopeston. She was originally reported missing on January 31.
Family and friends had been part of search teams over the last three weeks trying to locate the victim. She was last seen by family on February 1st.
Hoopeston Police had reported they didn’t suspect any foul play at the time of the woman’s disappearance.
