A power outage left several Ameren customers in the dark in Iroquois County Friday. Ameren spokesman Leigh Morris told WGFA News a utility pole burned and the top of the pole fell. Why the pole burned wasn’t known, but about 1,680 customers were without electrical service for a little over an hour.
The pole, about a half-mile south of Watseka, was replaced later in the day. The power was out from about 9:15 am until just before 10:30 am.
Ameren customers in parts of Watseka, Sheldon, Iroquois, Donovan, Beaverville and Martinton were affected.
