Several armed robberies have plagued at least a handful of Illinois communities, including Manteno and Peotone. Police report it’s believed the robbers stole a car in Chicago and drove as far south as Manteno, holding people up at gunpoint.

It all happened this week. The Daily-Journal reports four people were robbed in Manteno around 9 pm Tuesday. No one was injured.

Three suspects were in a 2014 Land Rover reported stolen in Chicago.

Manteno police said similar incidents have been reported in communities north of Manteno the past few days, including Peotone, Bolingbrook, Matteson and Hickory Hills.
