The Armstrong site at N. Hobbie Avenue in Kankakee has been a steady employer for years.

—Amidst a lot of speculation and comments from employees, Kankakee’s Armstrong Flooring manufacturing plant has been sold. The better news is that the local plant will remain open.
Armstrong filed for bankruptcy in May. The deal announced will keep the company’s Pennsylvania and Kankakee plants open. There’s no word jisy how many employees may be affected. The Kankakee plant employs 350 people and operates seven days a week.
