ARPA funding approved by Vermilion County Board

Technology upgrades at the Vermilion County Courthouse are included in some ARPA projects approved by the Vermilion County Board. Four courtrooms will get attention. Judges asked for the upgrades at a cost of $312-thousand dollars. Federal COVID recovery money from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) is being channeled for the improvements.

The County Board (Tuesday) also approved a request from the I & I Firefighters Association to use $133-thousand dollars in ARPA funds for upgrades to the dispatch system in serving fire departments and ambulance services in the county. County Board Chairman Larry Baughn calls the upgrades to the system a matter of public safety.
