Two adults and three children were displaced by a house fire early today (Monday) in Ashkum.  Ashkum Fire Chief Jeff Glenn said his department answered the call just after midnight to 201 N. Hubert Street. The single-story ranch home had heavy damage to one large room and smoke damage throughout.  The cause is believed to have been a fireplace issue, bit it's under investigation. No injury was reported.  Chebanse Township and Danforth Fire provided mutual aid along with Riverside Ambulance.

          2-story home destroyed at Ridge Farm --

An early-morning fire (Friday) destroyed a 2-story home in Ridge Farm.  The cause is being investigated.  Ridge Farm firemen received back-up from several departments.  An elderly female and two other female relatives were not home at the time.  Four pets died in the fire.
