Burning leaves triggered a threatening fire that resulted in about $100,000 damage in rural Ashkum Tuesday night.

Ashkum firemen answered the call to the Riverdale sub-division, west of L’Erable, just before 7 pm. Fire Chief Jeff Glenn tells WGFA News it was small shed fire that ignited a camper and then the house and a guest-house on the property.

Also consumed by the flames were three jet skis and a fiber-glass boat. A pontoon boat and a garage also sustained damage. No injury was involved.

Mutual aide was provided by Chebanse Township, Danforth, Martinton, Watseka, Otto-Pilot Township and Riverside Ambulance.
