Developers plan to start construction in July on a 46-unit assisted living facility in Gibson City. It’ll be located northeast of Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Middle School.
A partnership has signed a contract to purchase 8 acres in the Railside Estates development.
The proposed contract calls for the partnership to receive tax increment financing-based rebate of property taxes…. 75 percent of taxes generated by the project would be rebated to the developer and 25 percent would go to GCMS schools.
The group's announcement would make it unlikely that the developers of Autumn Fields in Hoopeston would still be interested in a Gibson City location.
