Ford County Crimestoppers welcomes any information concerning reports of an attempted child abduction in Paxton.  It happened over the weekend, according Paxton Police.

The incident occurred at 2:45 pm Sunday near Washington and Prospect streets, near Glen Cemetery on the city’s southeast side.

Police reports stated a young girl on her way home from the city swimming pool was told to get into the car by a man driving what was described as ‘an older model, rough-looking darker, possibly a blue 4-door.  The driver was described as an older white man with gray hair and a long gray beard who was wearing a gray Bud Light T-shirt. The vehicle was last seen headed west on Summer Street.

The girl ran away.  The child's mother called police.
