The death of a Watseka man remains under investigation. An autopsy was completed Monday on 38-year-old Daniel Gutierrez. He was found dead in his home Sunday. The autopsy results will not be made available until toxicology results are completed, according to Iroquois County Coroner Bill Cheatum.
Watseka Police and Illinois State Police continue their investigation.
Gutierrez was discovered in his home on N. 8th Street in Watseka Sunday afternoon. A welfare check was requested by other family members who were away for the weekend. Neighbors saw Gutierrez lying on the floor and he did not respond to knocks on the door. Authorities were contacted and Gutierrez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Further investigation revealed the house in disarray.
