A popular Vermilion County event every July has been canceled. The 2020 version of Balloons Over Vermilion is another victim of the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizers report the event relies on too many financial sponsors, and the continuing pandemic leaves a lot of uncertainty. Other participating businesses and companies will also have financial hardships. This year’s event was scheduled for July 10.

Vermilion County Health Department officials report there has not been any confirmed cases of coronavirus. Forty-seven people have been tested.
