Barickman appointed Illinois Senate Judiciary Committee

                      Replaces departed Senator Kirk Dillard

SPRINGFIELD — Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno, R-Lemont, has appointed Sen. Jason Barickman, R-Bloomington, to take the top Republican spot on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Barickman's appointment, effective immediately, fills a vacancy created by the departing Sen. Kirk Dillard, R-Hinsdale, who is leaving the Senate to chair the Regional Transportation Authority.
"Sen. Dillard has been a strong voice for all Illinois residents on this committee," Barickman said in a news release. "I hope to continue his record of working in bipartisan fashion to develop real solutions to the major issues facing our state."
"Senator Barickman has proven his leadership abilities through his work on this and other committees, including as co-chair of the Legislative Audit Commission," Radogno said in a news release. "I look forward to having him take the lead for our caucus on the very important legislation that comes before this committee."
