Basement Fire in Kankakee

Kankakee Fire responded to a basement fire Tuesday evening at 433 N. Schuyler Avenue.  The small fire did about $1,000 damage, according to Fire Chief Bryan LaRoche. Three adults were displaced, no injury reported.   The call was answered at 8:45 pm.  

Danville firefighters reported two calls within a  few hours of each other.  Early Tuesday morning, a house fire on Ferndale Drive did an estimated $80,000 damage.  The cause was under investigation.  Two residents were treated for smoke inhalation.  A pet was lost in the fire.    A Monday afternoon fire at 5:30 pm did about $30,000 damage to an apartment at N. Vermilion Street.  The cause was determined to be accidental.  No injury was reported.
