Bears settle in for mini-camp at Bourbonnais

The Chicago Bears 2018 mini-camp is geared up for a 26-day visit to Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais. The Bears brass and players arrived over the last two days.  The annual kick-off for camp is this evening.

Head coach Matt Nagy and General Manager Ryan Pace held their first press conference Thursday.  Pace thanked the Boubonnais community for the warm reception.  Nagy said the team was anxious to get started.

First-round draft choice, linebacker Roquan Smith, is absent yet to iron out his contract detials.  Nagy explained there's many new aspects of camp beisdes the new personnel.

Nagy will be the team’s fifth head coach to prowl the ONU practice fields — following Dick Jauron, Lovie Smith, Marc Trestman and John Fox — as the Bears hope to return to NFL respectability and the playoffs.
While thousands of fans are expected to begin arriving in the Village of Friendship for the first public practice next Saturday morning, community activities revolving around the camp will already be in motion.

The first-ever “Friday Night Lights Fest,” to be held at the BrickStone Brewery Production Facility in Bourbonnais. Bourbonnais has been the Bears’ summer home since 2002.
