52-year-old John E. Brown of rural Beaverville was awaiting extradition back to Iroquois County after his arrest in Indiana Thursday.  Brown was wanted on an Iroquois County warrant in connection with a shooting at a residence December 29 (2023).  It happened at a house in northeast Iroquois County, near the Indiana State line, according to sheriff's police. 

Brown is charged with Aggravated Battery, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.  Police said one person was sent to a hospital after the shooting incident. 

Iroquois County Sheriff's Police worked with the Jasper County, IN Sheriff's Department and the U.S. Marshals Service -the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force in taking Brown into custody without incident.  Brown was being held at the Jasper County Jail.
