The Watseka City Council (Monday) agreed to name a new road Bell Road, which will accommodate a new Ford auto dealership east of Wal-Mart.
Dave Bell said the project's all go, ground being broken today (Tues) to get the dealership project moving. Mayor Bob Harwood said it's another effort to promote and keep businesses in town.
John Bell says the new building will be an attractive layout. The new road will have an entrance off Oak Hill Road with the dealership situated to the south. The building will angle to the intersection of Route 1 and 24.
The new building, Bell said, will be built according to Ford-Lincoln dealership specs. It'll cover 17,000 square feet, include a three-vehicle showroom and the biggest gain will be the service department. Four new service bays will most likely lead to 5-7 new technicians.
Bell says a big Thank You goes out to city leaders.
"The city and the council have so instrumental in making this happen. We needed the land annexed, so this big jump is only happening with the mayor and the council's help," Bell told WGFA News.
