Gibson City resident Tom Bennett will continue to lead the Republican party in Ford County. Bennett was re-elected chairman of the Ford County Republican Central Committee during the annual County Convention April 16th.

"We are very pleased to have precinct committeemen and women in 20 of 22 precincts in Ford County," Bennett said.

Bennett said the Ford County Republican party has "worked hard these last two years" to bridge the gap between voters and elected officials, "as we have held a forum for all four Republican governor candidates, sponsored a Meet the Candidates event for Republicans running for Ford County sheriff and judge, and provided several opportunities for voters to meet several Republican candidates throughout the year.

Other officers elected include Vice-Chair Tim Nuss of rural Roberts, Denis Fisher of Gibson City as secretary, Rob Pacey of Paxton as treasurer. Steve Pacey of Paxton, Jon Clark of rural Sibley and Phil Peterson of rural Gibson City serve as district chairs.
