A woman is dead after a crash in Benton County Thursday night.

County Sheriff's deputies told WGFA News it happened just before 8:30 pm near the Indiana-Illinois border.

A 65-year-old woman from Hoopeston was ejected from her vehicle after it left road and struck a utility pole on County Road 1100 West.

The woman was initially taken to IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. She was transferred to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where she later died.
