The Benton County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the person killed in a small single-engine plane crash Monday. 35-year-old Robert Ray Cottingham of Otterbein was the plot of a crop-duster that crashed around 6:45 pm.
Emergency responders from several communities were called to a small single-engine plane crash near County Road 800 South. The plane was found on fire in a farm field. The preliminary cause of death is listed as multiple injuries due to a plane crash. Toxicology results are pending and can take six to eight weeks.
