Former State Representative Bill Black is in the news. The Illinois House Tuesday approved a joint resolution naming a Vermilion County bridge in Black's honor.

Sponsored by Rep. Chad Hays, the measure names a bridge on U.S Route 150 the William B. Black Bridge. The bridge near Oakwood High School would honor the former State Representative from Danville. Representative Hays "This was a very dangerous one lane bridge (that) contained a lot of school bus traffic, a lot of commerce traffic. Through the tireless work of Representative Black this is now a much safer area.''
